I don't know how old he is and how long you have had him but I know that my female BP hissed when I just got her. She was 7 weeks old and wasn't used to people and being handled. But after a few weeks of easy handling she didn't hiss anymore when I picked her up. She only hisses a little when she's in shed but that's not strange.

i dunno if mine is a f or m but strike is 8 months i just got him when he was 7 and a half months.
I have a male that does the same thing. He was a rescue, found in the wall of a store (there used to be a pet store located there). He survived for about 6 months on his own, then was given to me after he was captured. He was quiet for a while, but once he started feeding regularly and putting on weight, he started with the hissing. Only when he is first taken out, then quiets down and has never bitten. I am assuming that he was a WC, as he still had a tick on him!!
