What male should I use?

magicalmorphs Jul 06, 2007 02:24 AM

I want to build up alot of pastel females, but I'm not sure what I should do. I have a pastel male and a mojave male. Should I bred my pastel and hope for mostly females or should I use my mojo male and try to trade all my mojo's for pastel females. I think the mojo would be the way to go since the price of pastel males are so low, and mojos are still at a good price even male mojos are higher than pastel females. I just don't know how common it is in the biz to do much trading. By the way I still think the pastels are one of the better looking and least appreciated morphs out there. They're a great beginner morph since they're really affordable now and they look great, plus they make EVERY morph look better!!!

Thats one of my goals too-and like you, I'm jumping the gun and planning my breeding for next year while eggs are still incubating lol..

I have 2 good male pastels, a male piebald, and a male het clown. So besides holding back female pastels this year, I'm going to do the following pairings:

Male pastel 1-mate to 1 female pastel and 4 normals.
Male pastel 2-mate to 1 pastel and 3 normals
Male piebald-mate to 3 100% het pieds, a pastel and a spider (gotta love those pied spiders!)
Male 100% het clown-mate to 2 100% het clowns and 2 normals

I'm so anal about this plan that I've already got the enclosures coded so I know who to put with whom .....

How many normal females do you have? I would just breed both males to all of your females.
