I use a 160 watt power sun and a 70 watt flood light( not UV. The temp gets around 108 which i like and i think my dragons do to. It is a 5' long tank so theres plenty of room to thermoregulate or whatever. Any way maybe you should get the 160 watt? Thats what i used for all my tank sizes.

Yeah Mat, especially with glass tanks cause of the open top. You need to add a little basking light to bring up the temps if your only using 100. I use 100 watt on my little 20 gallons and get 102 basking temp on a flat river rock. I also use 100 watts in my 4x2x2 melamine enclosures it all depends on the ventilation. You can also just lift up the basking site closer to the bulb if you don't want to add the extra basking light, or put a towel over part of the screen top this will hold in some heat. Just make sure you are still getting a good gradient. This is the most annoying part of setting up a tank, or changing to a different bulb. Just got to change the setup a bit and you should get it right.

i just put it over my 20L for my pastel baby she went a few eeks with no UVB so she kinda needs it more than my bigger guy. i will give a 160 watt a try when i build my big cage that way i will have room up top to put both a MVB and a heat light

Mat you got a baby hypo pastel? Have any pics of it? Hypo pastels are one of my favorites, and one of the morphs I'm going to be working with next breeding season if all goes well. If you want to check out mine I got a few on my pic page below. Buddy is a hypo pastel from Sandfire Ranch, Kami is my Dachiu Beauty. He's got the best coloring of most of the pastels I've seen. I also have a hypo pastel X Hypo orange/pastel that is just getting better and better with each shed, and the pics I have are old. This breeder sent it to me with a missing fingers so I won't say who she was from. Bad!!
