question on my gravid boa

arcanemind Jul 06, 2007 04:31 PM

I have a 30lb female boa that i bred with another male. I separated them 2 months ago when she had her POS. She swelled up nicely and appears gravid. Only thing is, i never see her thermoregulate..only a few times...but she lays mostly on the cool end...btw..i keep my heat (belly heat) at 90-92 degrees.

I am just wondering if anyone has every produced a viable litter with the female seldomly thermoregulating, or is this a typical sign of slugs on the way?

Thanks for any input.
Vince

I just saw someone else ask this question last week or the week before. The answer from various breeders was that some females thermoregulate a lot, some not at all, some to varying degrees. It depends on the female and has nothing to do with the number of viable young.

Good luck with her!
