WHEN I BRED EMILY, MY MIAMI TO HER F1 SON, HENRY VIII(WHO IS NORMAL, BUT HAS NO UNDER BODY CHECKERS FOR THE FIRST 1/4TH OF HIS BODY) I WAS BREEDING FOR THE FUNKY CHECKERS AND I WAS TOLD SHE PRODUCED 1 GHOST IN 2005....SO ANOTHER REASON WAS TO PROVE OUT ANY HETS, GHOST IF ANY OTHERS... THE FIRST BABY TO POP OUT WAS A NORMAL... 2ND WAS AN AMEL MOTLEY AND 3RD WAS NORMAL MOTLEY. 1 EGG WENT BAD A FEW DAYS BEFORE HATCHING SO I CUT IT OPEN AND IT WAS A SNOW.... I THINK MOST BABIES ARE NORMALS AND GHOSTS... THE 3 LAST EGGS NEVER WENT FURTHER THAN PIPPING, 1 I CUT OPEN AND WAS DEAD... THAT ONE WAS A SNOW. ANOTHER WAS AN AMEL AND THE 3RD WAS A MOTLEY ANERY... ANYWAYS, HERES MY QUESTION... ONLY 2 SNOWS SURVIVED... 1 VERY BADLY DEFORMED WHICH I WILL PUT DOWN AND THE OTHER IS NORMALISH LOOKING MAYBE A LIL MOTLEY LOOKING BUT HAS BELLY CHECKERS FOR ONLY ABOUT 1/3RD OF ITS BODY WHICH IS THE MIDDLE. AND THE END PART OF THE BODY IS ALMOST SORTA BANDED. I DONT THINK ITS GOING TO MAKE IT B/C IT DOESNT SEEM AS HEALTHY AS THE OTHERS, BUT I WAS JUST CURIOUS WHAT IT WOULD BE? I KNOW BANDEDS HAVE SOLID BELLIES.... SO IS IT LIKE, A FREAK? I'LL TRY TO TAKE PICS..... BUT I WANTED OPINIONS

sounds like you had some hidden genes, i wouldnt say that they are freaks, just abberant.

i know its kind preachy but maybe some of the deformities are from inbreading.

Can I ask a favor... Could you please turn off your caps?
It's kind of hard to read.
So you got normal, ghost, amel motley, normal motley and snow?
Did I miss any?
That would mean both parents are het amel het anery het hypo and het motley....very nice.
Some of my regular creams that hatched with my motley creams only have the faint belly checkers for about the first third of their bodies. I just took it to be a slight anomaly due to the fact that they are het motley. I don't really consider it an indicator so I guess just an aberrant belly pattern would be more accurate.

hey Jimmy, I think Kin posted once that when she posts from work it is in caps. Cant remember the reason.
Although I agree, it looks like she is yelling. If there is such a thing over the internet. lol

Kin- I would like pics as well. I know from person experience that when you work and have so much going on, its hard. But, we all love seeing pics. Heck, I still need to post pics of my bloodreds. But, I have decided to wait until they do the post hatch shed.

What was the temp, moisture in your incubator? Were there any spikes in the temps that you know of? Did you use anything on the eggs while incubating? Like listerine for the mold. As much info as you can would be great. If you have the genetic problems aain next year, I would not suggest breeding those two snakes together again. Try with new pairs. If it happens again, dont use either snakes as breeders. Hope this helps.

emily was the girl i used last year.... so i know shes ok. as for her son, he's an 05 so maybe thats 1 reason.... i'm hoping... i will try to breed them again next year as well as henry and his sister cassy to see if they have any other hets unknown. i do have some bad news however that the said snow did die lastnight into this am. but i will try to stilol take un-nasty pics of it i will also have to take pics of the ghosts... they are the nicest ghosts i have ever seen eventhough they are still in blue phase and they have natural blue eyes. i'll try to send you some pics

Not too familiar with emoryi but do the checkers start 1/3 down with them also? I know on black, grey, yellow, and glades they start 1/3 the way down.... Is it possible that maybe there is some emoryi in the mix?

i know emily looks 100% miami. as for her son, i saw the father and he was just a normal ole corn. the first clutch from 05 supposedly had a ghost baby which looks like a lavender with blue eyes. the only other weird thing about henry is that he was born with a very grey head and the rest of him looked like a normal baby corn. he still has a lil grey tint to his head if you look at the pic though.
