How to feed ground turkey

reptilian9 May 21, 2003 08:27 PM

This may seem like a stupid question, but I bought some ground turkey at the store for my red tegu. I'm not making the SDZ mix, so how do I feed the turkey to him? Do I need to cook it at all, or just raw? I'm sure I should at least warm it first.

When I first get my slab of lean turkey I break it off into chunks of about how much Blake can eat in a day. I stick them all into little baggies and stick them in the freezer. Then when I'm going to feed him it, I let it thaw until it's at room temperature and put it in a little dish and he goes right up to it and starts chowing.

I usually mix in some fruit such as bananas and something like diced sweet potato. I also add a good dose of vitamin/calcium supplement. I try to never feed too many meals of turkey or eggs in a row without getting some whole animal meals in there too. Usually whole mice or quail.
