Target still carries sterilite tubs. Also, around here there are "the container store" and "Storables" . Does not make sense to design anything until you have tubs in hand and have exact dimensions. Will be happy to help with design and tips. One other thought, I got my Iris CB110 tubs from the classifieds...

Once you figure out what tub you can get / want to use, we can go from there.

More questions...has to fit in a 28 x 36 area. Is there room to pull the drawers beyond that and which way, sliding out widthwise or lengthwise. And specifically, what are you gonna want to keep in it...species, size. I have mine set up to handle two different species with diferent temp needs....nmultiple zones in each rack.

yes they can be pulled out into room thats whay the min is the 32 thats coming into the room the 28 is distance between my baby racks and my boaphile 3X18 cages thats the must be max size lol as long as when they are pulled out into the room the dont surpass 32 inches past the rack they would be for any holdbacks basically so ball bci brb carpets whatever

is it possable for the rack to have half cb30 and half cb70? i like having the two diff options or something like that but just a mix n match option like the one i thinkyou called it a q room rack or somethign but those tubs looked small for some reason oh and i did messuring and the cb 70 will fit either direction in the room either as a normal rack or sideways rack wich i like better i just have to slide a few thigns over

rainbowsrus Jul 07, 2007 09:28 PM

If you made the CB 70 sideways (36 1/2 to 37 inches wide) then you could make some shelves for CB 70 only and some shelves for CB30 lengthwise 2 per shelf. Not interchangable, each chelve would be tub specific. And the CB30's would make the rack deeper, about 23 inches so would have to put stop blocks on the CB 70 shelves to keepo the tubs towards the front since they only need to go in about 19 inches. Could make two stackable Racks and let one overhang the other? Kep the widths the same and make the depths tub specific.

i will make one rack with cb70 being 4 high and only a single row and another rack being cb30 3 high single row then just setting them next to each other and putting schimms or spacer of some sort to make lvl with the 3/8th inch differance following me? or you got a better idea? the more light getting into the bins the better if you can think of a way to do so ok work your magic you got your info cb70 pull out front the long way and cb30 pull out fron the long way 2 racks set next to each other if poss made same hieght oh and dave im in procces of making a web page care if i stick a link to your page on there for all the help that you have gave me?

Same height is easy, cut sides for both racks the same height. If you look at all my racks there is a "filler" piece underneath the bottom shelf. That piece is cut to fit. The more levels a rack has, the more buildup of small discrepencies. With the extra height, does not matter about any small mistakes in height. Racks are assembled upside down starting woith the top and working "up to the bottom" see these pix:

Here are a couple of pix showing a ten high sterilite being assembled. It's upside down in the pic.
