A question for the experts

Hi I am wanting to buy a monitor I am intrested in the medium to large breeds. I really like the mangrove monitors and have read all the info I can on these animals. I had a Nile aout 4 years ago that i sold to a freind that just wouldnt take no for an answer. I had it for about year and it got to be about 3 ft long. After all of the recent research I have done in the past few months I realise I did not have the best husbandry and the animal could have been much more happy. I plan to offer much better care for my new captive that I plan to aquire in the next 3 months or so. I understand that monitors are not lap dogs but I do want one I can walk into the room and it does not break its neck tring to run away. I want one that will interact with me on at least a feeding level where it will allow me to feed it with tongs. I have found little info on the mangrove monitors I have found tons on Niles, waters, ackies, savannahs, ect. I plan on building and shed outside to house my monitor and my Retic that i currently own. I plan on a shed that is 10*15 and the cages to be 10*5 each. so I still have a 10*10 work area. to park my motorcycle and lawnmower. No I am not planing on running either in the building. I need any info you can give on the mangrove monitor I know that that tend to get around 4 ft long give or take a ft. I do not know anything about disposition and interaction with people as i do not see manypoeple that own them posting much about them. I really dont want to go with a smaller monitor but would consider one as an alternitive if you all think mangroves make poor captives. Anyways if you have any info or another suggistion for a captive please let me know.

If you reword the title of your post you may get more response. The "experts" may be too humble to call themselves such and others who can answer the question don't consider themselves "experts".

Pitbull,
I'm not a big fan of Mangroves. I've only seen two that I thought were somewhat handlable. One of which belongs to a woman named Holly. She used to post here often. Her mangrove seemed to be barely threatened by human contact. The other mangroves I've encountered were flighty at best and terrified of anything that moved at worst. If you are looking for a monitor lizard that reaches a moderate size and doesn't flip-out everytime you come near, you should look at the Whitethroat monitor. Another decent sized monitor, although a bit more active is the the Argus monitor. Check into these guys, and I think you'll be happy with what you find.
