1st Clutch Pics

RussBates Jul 07, 2007 11:48 AM

This clutch hatched out late last week and now I'm waiting on the shed before offering food. Lots of neat little orange leonis in this clutch.

Here's a neat pipping shot

And another close up

Very nice pics Russ, those babies look great! I really like the close-ups of them hatching.

thanks. Yeah I thought those close up shots were pretty cool. I'm thinking about matting one for my snake room and hanging it on the wall.

Russ:

Great pics. Love that intermediate phase. Did you notice the egg tooth on your second pipping shot? Way cool.

Cheers,

Bob

thanks and know I didn't. Glad we've got a trained eye in the audience.

Strange results this year out of almost 50 hatchlings 37 are out of the egg and I really didn't produce that many high yellow leonis like I have in years past. I generally produce better than 60% of hatchlings in the bright yellow leonis pattern. I've got a lot of nice orange ones but not as many yellows. My last clutch to hatch is the one that throws cool intermediates....got another 3 weeks on those to go.

Sent you an email.

That group pic is a preshed pic isn't it? Man I'd love to see that group post shed without any substrate in the way. BTW I didn't notice the egg tooth either. That Bob is an eagle eye.

Russ,

Sweet! It looks like the Thayeri gods were very pleased with your offerings over these past few months...what a nice "Box of Thayeri's"...

Later,
Jim.

Russ,

You are welcome...that's a very nice (and very diverse) "Box of Thayeri's" you've got there! I'm looking forward to seeing their post-shed photo's...

That neonate with the "Y" pattern on its head and the saddle splits is kind of interesting (on the far right hand side of your Box of Thayeri's)...have you decided on which ones you're going to keep?

Later,
Jim.

they are all for sale once feeding. I'm holding onto zero hatchlings.

Russ,

Thanks...that's good to know. Right now I'm just jealous seeing the photo's of everybodies "Boxes of Thayeri's" because it is going to be awhile before I'm producing my own...

For right now, I just have to settle for everybody's photo's to satisfy my Thayeri addiction...Ha! Ha!

Later,
Jim.
