I have seen sites which indicate that blue sips are the same as New Rivers, but I just don't know. The pattern sure looks similar, but it's pretty hard to get much info on these morphs (although their care is identical).
There are several people who are selling New River froglets. I bought mine for $55 each from Quality Captives (www.qualitycaptives.com--the New Rivers aren't on their website, but they have them available if you e-mail), and I think that seems to be about the going price. A few other people have offered them in the past (Sean Stewart in the classifieds and A.J. Calisi at fantasticfrogs.com), so those would be pretty easy to come by. Oh, and tincs.com also offers them regularly.

i saw tincs.com currently has 4 left. i was comparing the sipi against the new river and most pictures looked the same. and some new rivers looked like a darker blue instead of a lite blue or white like the sipi i have seen as of yet.
i was wanting cobalts but the new rivers/sipi has been catching my eye as of latley.
also are the new river and sipi the same?

New Rivers and Sipaliwini are NOT the same morph, though they look very similar, they are from different areas in the Sipaliwini River area.
As for Sips, there are a couple different morphs but the only ones that breed true (that I know of) are the lime green sipaliwini and the sipaliwini (aka blue sips). People who lable their frogs blue sips are just trying to make it clear these are not some of the other sip morphs like the lime greens, so blue sips and sips are the same.
I've seen the adult pair of sips available in the classifieds in person, nice fat little guys. Its unusual for adult pairs to be sold, so they are a pretty good deal. I've also met the Tincs.com people and seen some of the baby new rivers, also good frogs though I haven't seen the exact frogs they are selling as the current frogs were just a twinkle in their parents' eyes when I saw their siblings, lol. Both good frogs worth the money, I guess its more do you want to raise the frogs up or just start out with adults and know you will get tads pretty quickly (and they are ready to be tossed in any tank you have ready to go).
Hello,
I just bought a pair of the limegreen version, but when I went to my favourite pet store, they had a couple of the green and one of the blue version together in one terrarium, the blue ones are definitely not the new river form.I love the blue form as well,I think I'm going to get a couple.I only hope the blue breeds thrue and the offspring doesen't turn limegreen.Greets Gwen Cardon
The blues should breed true as the problem of not breeding true was in the lime green form... some of the animals came in looking lime green but the froglets never got the color of their parents... kind of washed out looking. I would just not house them together as the lime greens and blues would have no problem cross breeding which wouldn't be very good, or just toss the eggs when you got them. If you do intent to breed them I would just keep them seperate.
