I've got a girl taking two at a time that wouldn't touch anything else. Of course, you can wait Balls out and eventually they'll eat...but if you're bringing up breeders...definitely give em a try. They are a little more aggressive, but it seems to be towards me and not the snake. I just snatch them up by the tail...no bites yet.

I have 2 large colonies of African Soft Furred (ASF) rats in addition to my other rat breeding colonies and my 3 mice colonies (I really hate mice). First generation of the ASF were a bit more agressive than regular rats IMHO. But by 3rd or 4th generation, they have calmed down considerably.
Not all picky eaters will take ASF, but many will. I tend to use them to get the picky eaters eating well and then I can make the transition to regular rats.
Also, you need to be careful if you plan to sell the snake you are feeding ASF to - the new owner may not be able to find them in their location.
Good luck!

You can keep multiple young aniamls together, but once they begin to breed......males will show agression towards each other. Females are ok.
Great for picky feeders!!!

For to start eating picky feeders?
Thank you
Flavio
I have both africans and regular rats cause I have some that turn everything down except the africans. My opinion africans are easier to maintain and are better breeders than regular rats..
yes they bite like no tomorrow !! David of DS Reptile Rescue
bite who? the snake or the owners? thanks.
We have a couple of picky feeders and they eat them like candy. Also puts weight on them fairly quickly.Yes they can be nasty toward you and each other.Watch your fingers!LOL Shane & Kim
