Unfortunately I've already been on three vacations this year so I couldn't make it to the big show. I would love to hear about all the cool things that people saw though. How about all those Jaguar morphs? were they as impressive in person?

This was my first year and I had to drive 20 hrs both ways just to go but it was completely worth it. Awesome selection of everything you could ever want. I picked up my Leary JCP and finally met the Learys and was happy I was able to see some things and chat a bit. I was able to put ALLOT of faces with names which was nice. I met Gus Rentfro and picked up an absolute KILLER BCI for a steal. A couple people where eyeing it but it was female and they needed males. It was just too good to turn down and later I had offers from people to buy it for twice what I paid for it. I didnt spend much there but it was well worth it and I will definetly go any time I can. The diverse selection and quality was the best I have seen. Excellent show.

sounds like you had an excellent time. Was Yasser down there? I'd love to meet Will one day, he has always been extremely nice and polite when I've talked to him. Hopefully I'll make the trip next year. Bo

No unfortunately Yasser didnt make it as he had some business he had to take care of. Will was awesome and he definetly knows his stuff, I wanted to buy more from him but I figured I had better play it smart and save some money for later or next year. I also met Jeff Clark who was also very nice as well, I was a salt shake away from buying a BRB from him but just had to save some cashola. Next year if I go again I definetly am not playing it so safe. There was so much good stuff I had to make some very hard decisions, but it was great fun. And the beach.........oh how I missed the beach. Nothing like getting up first thing in the morning and running strait into the waves...........ahhhhhhh.

. The Leary's are super nice people. They had some beautiful snakes for sale. I had a good time and got to talk to hundreds of old and new friends. I bought a pair of baby 3/4 Diamonds from Jim Merli and a three year old female Surinam from Mo Wendling. The selection of animals at the show was fantastic. Most prices were much lower than internet prices. The biggest problem I saw was that there were not enough serious buyers. At past shows I have had much better sales than this year. This is not really a serious problem for me. I do not have too far to drive to get to Daytona and I do not really have to sell anything. For me this show is as much a social event and fact finding tour as a sales event. Setting up just one table at this show is not a big expense either. I have a great time at this show whether I make money or not. I heard some of the people who come long distances and have lots of tables and bring lots of salespeople complaining that sales volume was not enough to justify the expenses of coming to this show. The hot show had some great animals. I went right after we finished setting up for the regular show friday afternoon and the influx of all the regular show vendors was too much for the small area and limited number of vendors at the hot show. It would have been great without such a big crowd. Hank Molt says he will have many more vendors and lots more room at the hot show next year.

The show was a good time. I went there for Saturday, and it wasn't too crowded, as I remember it was last year. But I did go on Sunday last year. I managed to hold back impulses and I didn't buy anything. Friends that went with me did come back with some beardeds. There is a show up here in Tallahassee on October 4th and 5th. I don't think that show will go by without getting anything. Are any of you planning on coming to that show. There is a link to it on the events page on kingsnake as well as a full page ad on page 14 of Reptiles this month.

As for the jaguars I wasn't the slighest bit impressed. The pictures do them more justice than in real life. I am not saying this out of spite because I dont' have one. After seeing them I don't think I would want one. I think a high yellow jungle is much more impressive. I don't have any jungles, so owner bias isn't there. Nothing against the people who breed or enjoy jags, they are just not my cup of tea. I was hoping to see some nice IJs, but I only saw a couple of babies and one pair of adults. I don't know if the market just isn't there, or if the supply just isn't present.

Matt

Cori - I looked for you at your table, but never saw you.

Will - I saw you across from Cori's table, but you were always busy with customers when I strolled by. Maybe next show.

Those would definitely have to look nice. I assume you are referring to the classic jaguars.

I did not see any of the hypos. Yes, I am referring to the classic jaguar, at least I would assume so. The pattern is interesting, but the color is very drab.

I saw a strange ball python not that far from Will that was albino, but had certain areas that had black pigment. It almost looked like some took marker and colored in some areas normal. I am not a keeper of ball pythons, but it was almost pied albino, rather than pied white.

Tallahassee, Oct. 4,5 anyone? First show in my town since I have been here.

Hey!
Sorry I missed you at the table. As you know everything was just crazy it seemed. So many people!!! I wish I could have met more forum friends, or at least the people who post on JKUROSKI's site... I did meet Will and his wife Mary, indeed they are very nice!
Anyway, which jags did you see at our table? Our 2002 male we had on display got some repti-cal sand in his mouth, so we had to take him off the table for a bit. We have sold out of the 2002 animals, or you would see some very nice Jags! We only had what was left and of course the hatchlings. The extreme male we were advertising is awesome, but he sold in the UK before the show.
Henric used a different female this year for the Jag breeding. We know the appearance of hatchlings are influenced by the female used to breed. Anyway, some of the hatchlings look promising to be red in the bands! Also, some have a "ladder" appearance on the sides, they are nice.
What did you think of the Axanthic?
Fortunately, I get to keep her over in the US for a while!! So I'll post some pics of her as she grows
Take care,
Cori
