im not planning on buying one but im curius, is there a species of crocidilian, available on the pet trade thats stays small (less than 4')?

The real question is...is there a crocodilian available on the pet trade? I don't know which state you're in, but FL allows them for educational purposes only. I had an FWC inspection not too long ago and they are very interested in what I am using my alligator for and where he's going when I move him.
To answer your original question, I am not as well-versed in the keeping of the caiman, but I don't believe there is even a dwarf species that stays under 4ft.
