Ticks hide under the scales and in the fold of the eye socket sometimes.

I use a loupe and a thin pair of tweezers and inspect the eye socket and pull back all of the scales, it takes awhile.

so now they would soak in the water if they had ticks Im not exactly understnding what u are telling me I will check her out but I was wanting to know if this is unusual for a ball to soak in the water for that long?

One of my Royals lies in his water bowl at the peak of each summer when the ambient temperature is high and sometimes does it just as he starts his shedding cycle.
But do check for mites, look in the water bowl after she is out because the mites should drown and will be in the bottom of the bowl.

It is normal for them to do that from time to time and doesn’t mean they have mites or ticks per say , there are lots of reasons for that behavior , it can be the start of going into opaque , may be constipated , may be dry skin or lack of humidity , or may be external parasites , I have a breeder male ghost that dose the same thing after every meal and his cage husbandry is perfect and I have never figured out why he dose that . So check your husbandry and you snake carefully and if you find something GRATE if not DON”T WORRY about it . Good luck . David of DS Reptile Rescue
