Clear/Patternless Sheds

RandyRemington Aug 18, 2003 12:26 PM

What ball pythons other than the traditional ghost/hypomelanistics shed clear (without a visible pattern in the shed)? I'm wondering if Desert Ghost, Platy, Butter, Banana, or Whitesmoke shed like this little girl? I'm hoping she is the same thing as Alvaro Daniel Garcia's "Silver Ghost" (and we hope to breed them) but I'm wondering if there are others that shed clear too.

Thanks!

I would just like to say I like the way you photograph snakes on the hardwood floor Sorry if that's a bit irrelevent.

I'm not much of a photographer but I find that the yellow/red of wood seems to bring out the colors well in normal ball pythons. This one has a tiny little bit of cream color in her dorsal pattern spots that my new camera can't seem to capture so she isn't a perfect axanthic although she is very close. If anyone knows what setting on an Olympus C-4000 would keep yellow from washing out let me know. It seems to let some yellow through but everything is adjusted down a level of yellow.

but I bet that patternless balls would have patternless sheds too.

I'm thinking they are more of a solid pattern than patternless so I bet they leave dark pigment in their shed, maybe darker near the back and lighter toward the belly.

This was my female het albino, and all of her sheds were clear!

Did she start out looking like that? Any history of that appearance or clear sheds with either of her parents? Do you still have her and if so will you be breeding her?
