back from Daytona

So that was the biggest show in the US. The usual stuff but just more of it. A great place to be if you like tree boas and ball pythons. Saw a very few cyclura. juvi' rhinos and some cubans and one pair of hybrids. Nothing that really stood out. The only spineytail I saw was the one at the IIS booth. It was a incredibly tame adult acricanthus, sorry for butchering the name. She got petted and proded for two days and never moved. Saw an new bearded dragon morph. I think the best thing was the prices on Powersun lights,$35 a light ,3 for $100. You could pick up a albino softshell turtle for a mere 25K.
met some fine people from the forum and the IIS booth got lots of people and increased membership. On a whole a good weekend. I have pictures but I am "old school" and shoot film so you have to wait.

Notice any sauromalus(chuckwallas) of any kind? Tom

AJ had one at the IIS booth but I didn't see one on the show floor. That doesn't mean there wasn't one there though. The place was packed and chucks weren't on my "to find list", sorry
There was so much wheeling and dealing friday night before the show opened between dealers that some of the best and rarest never make to the booths.

I went both days and didn't see any chucks. My opinion of the show was that is may be the biggest but not the best. As a matter of fact, I saw some vendors raise there prices just for the show. My conclusion, is that the great thing about Daytona is not the animals for sale but the people you meet that have the same interests. I met some really nice people.

All in all I had fun.

IRBA shows sometimes have some interesting work shops by some very knowelegble people, but it's hard to beat the amount of people you meet when there are 575 tables.

Unfortunately it has a lot of nice pictures but not really that much info that has not been stated before unless you are into taxonomy. I was really surprised that he seems to use all his own terminalogy which is not taxonomically correct. He calls subspecies color phases etc.. Tom
