Little Pastel Hatchling!

reptilicus81 Jul 09, 2007 01:19 PM

We had some bad odds this year only having one female drop, and only having one viable "boob" egg from her. But I am happy to say that after cutting the egg at day 53 we have a little pastel. I chose to cut as I was very eager to see what it was, but also, the whole egg weighs only 41 grams, and so I was a bit worried. I am happy I chose to cut as the baby was very unresponsive, but luckily after 24 hours in the egg, it is beginning to wander out of it's shell(you wouldn't know it left at all except it has vermiculite stuck to it' head ).

I will get some more pics once it has emerged, but is my first shot (yesterday):

Sorry it is a bit off as I am not used to the new camera. The baby should be a knock out as she was produced by a very light female normal to a male pastel.

Good luck with the new baby. From what I can tell, it looks like a nice Pastel. Make sure you post some pics after it sheds.
