snake age

Well, brutus is almost ready to shed. I am confused on the age of him though. I thought when born, balls were usually about a foot long. I have had brutus for about 3-4 weeks and the peshop had him for about 5 weeks before me. He is about 18-24" long (estimate) so I thought he was only about 4 months old but a different local petshop said he is probably over a year old? Anybody have any thoughts on this? I will be feeding Brutus tomorrow and am considering trying two mice. What will happen if it is too much for him? I have been feeding 1 mouse once every 5 days. Also, on a lot of other posts, people write down numbers like 0.0.02 and so on, what does this mean?

I have a ball that I got a month ago who was born in may (making him about 4 months) and he is about 14" i think, so I would assume yours is quite a bit older than mine... The 1.1.1 numbers stand for gender. (#males.#females.#unknown) So if it said, "1.2.3 ball pythons" you would have 1 male , 2 females, and 3 unknown gender ball pythons.
