Nokturnel Tom Jul 10, 2007 11:13 AM

I have produced plenty of Kings but never had any Cal Kings. Neat little snakes

didn't know you got some cal. kings. congrats! will you keep breeding cal?

Nokturnel Tom Jul 10, 2007 12:22 PM

Yeah, I actually have a few, this clutch came from a Banana het Chocolate Banana male bred to a normal black n white banded female. I also have Albino Banana and Chocolate Banana females which I think the male bred but none of those seemed to take? There's always next year.

Thats like the guy who built the Golden Gate Bridge never played with Legos before.

I started with Corns, then Black Kings and then Pines. After that I went Brooksi bonkers and will continue to stick with them as my main focus. I like the Cal Kings but there seem to be more of them available than any other kingsnake so I did not get too many of those. Four of the ones I have are actually here on loan, you never know what you might find at Daytona. If I see something "new" in Cal Kings I will scoop it up and ad it to the group. Tom Stevens

I'm hoping to selectively breed a line with very few or now complete bands.

It will take awhile - if it is even possible - as my current stock have less half bands than a lot I see for sale, but I don't want to buy others - I need more Cal Kings like I need another hole in my head. I do love them though, especially the "normal" banded.

The real neat Cal Kings pattern wise IMHO are the ghost and the banded hypermelanistic that pop up down in southern california from time to time. I like the valley hypermelanistic (davis/mendota) as well, but the banded are just really beautiful. Maybe though that's just my bias for banded

Cal Kings - new morphs just around the corner - trust me.

I did cut back again this year and I have just under 200 cal king eggs.

Congrats and some cool looking cal kings!
