It's been ages since I've been here last so I'll just update you as best I can.

I had to move in a hurry so my poor Isis chose to retain her eggs last year. Nothing I could really do, I tried some shots of a reptile version of oxytocin (it didn't work). She was bred to my male again this year, and at some point while I was gone on vacation, she laid all her eggs (including the retained ones). I collected them all up and put the fertile ones in the incubator. The infertile ones were obvious so I threw those out.
She had a total of 24 eggs. 15 infertile ones and 9 viable ones. I lost one of the fertile eggs because it wasn't buried along with the others and dried up, too late to save. I've got the other 8 in the incubator so hopefully, I'll have little ones again this year.

Hey, Sunfox! It HAS been a long time!!

How is Ra doing these days? I just remember how funny it was - he was such a little guy and she was so big. Yet he managed to get the job done!

Ra has his full adult colors now, it's getting more difficult to tell the two apart these days. He's still smaller than her but he does bully her now after the romance is over. Sadly, I do have to keep them separated after breeding season is over but they get along well during that time period so it's all good.

Update: 3 eggs failed to harden, became squishy, and got moldy. Had to toss those out. The other 5 are looking good so I'm hoping these ones will make it. I'll keep you all posted as events occur.

i assume that pic is of Isis-she is big. My adult mali is small- we call her mocasin-can't imagine eggs coming out of her- but she is still young, and I really have no interest in breeding her at this time,anyway. Maybe at a later date. She is starting to get get black showing, I think she will always be "small".
