And my funky yellow ackie egg finally decides to hatch. Now, to figure out why I only got three eggs from this hathling's clutch (my most recent clutch was entirely infertile) that looked halfway decent (not sure if they didn't hatch because they were bad, or if I screwed them up), and if this hatchling was a parthno, or from retained sperm, as they did copulate back around Christmas but a fertile clutch never followed. I also need to figure out whether the female isn't allowing my male to breed her, or if the male is not doing so even if the female is allowing him to.

Anyways, here are some pics.

Pipping yesterday evening:

Came out of the egg sometime last night or this morning:

With its egg:

I still don't know what that funky colored perlite is a result of.

Also, how long do you folks who have done this before normally leave the younguns in the incubation container? Until the umbilical cord thingy (sorry, don't know what it's called) falls off? Thanks.

Cheers,
Ryan

If he is running around in the incubator - take him out now. Leave them alone if they are still in egg or still have umbilicus connected. The nub on the belly will dry up and fall off.
