I offer food day after their fist shed. I normally do a normal size mouse but many other people do hoppers... I dont know why but i have had a easier time offering normal size mice then hoppers. hope this helps

what do you consider a "normal" sized mouse?

the size under jumbo.... keep in mind I have only had a clutch of three new borns and at the time all i had was full size mice I was really shocked that they ate them but all three ate thier meal with a full size mouse 3 months later they are eating small rats..

.....IF you re going to powerfeed , you have a better chance of getting good large balls if you start right away..not always the very first meal , but start very young........

I use fuzzy mice the first meal or so...then hops for awhile.....but I just throw them in or hand them to the baby after they start eating......yes they can eat "pet shop" sized mice.......and at times they won't eat fuzzies..but yes the mice trigger an attack.....they are all correct....
