As some of you figured out, my shipment came in today from Will Bird.
These bring the collection up to 98, almost a hundred and I already have two more on old with Brian Sharp so just about to go triple digits!!

Fresh off the delivery truck

opening the box and removing the packing materials

Spread them all out and arranged them in order by Will's sequence numbers.

Finally, later today I took each one out for some individual pics
First off, the males

This is male "1231" He has bold, thick crescents, typically over half of each ocelli is covered in crescent, more like a half or more than half moon look.

Next male is "1242", also thick bold crescents but with more curvature to the lower edges. Several are bullseyes and even a few stretched into oblong shapes.

Third and last male is "1250", He's not only got thick bold crescents, he also has bullseye, blotchy and connected/stretched ones as well. The most insane crescents of all three males!

Now for the Females:

Female "1226" Nice bold creescents with one or two bullseyes

Female "1227" Also nice bold crescents with a few bullseyes

Female "1228" Like her sisters, nice full crescents with some stretched

Female "1235" More thick crescent with several bullseyes.

Female "1236" Very thick and blotchy crescents, a definate stunner!!

Female "1259" Thick crescents and several bulseyes and WOW color!!!

Female "1264" More thick crescents, some blotchy and linked

BTW, did ya notice all the light colored eyes in the group?

Some great animals - I have a few coming from Will and I hope they are nearly as good as the ones you got. I was able to find some nice ones that you left behind.

I do like the color on F 1259, and the cresents on most all of his animals are great.

Congratulations on the new additions! That 1236 female is a stunner! I love the dark borders. You'll be well over triple digits once your babies start arriving! I have managed to cut my collection down to 55 at the moment. That's a "manageable" number for me.

First off, those are some great looking rainbows.

As I was scrolling through the pics, I got down to # 1259. As the 2nd pic cam up, the first thing that came to mind was copperhead. I have no idea why, it just did. That is a beauty of a snake. Happy to hear that they all made it through the shipping.

in two or three years, I should be producing more of those Leticia locality gems.

The real luck is in having a wife who allows me to invest up front in my hobby/business. If I had to wait for proceeds to pay for acquisitions, the collection would only be a small fraction of what it is today.

Within the next few years all my lovely babies will grow up and help turn the "ledger" around. At least that's the idea.

Dave - You know those kids in school that always had the nice toys? That was you wasn't it! lol lol You managed to snag the female I was eyeing for my collection.. I purchased 1.1 of Will's top shelf babies last year, they are smokers!! I think he's definately got something there in those animals. Most bizzare looking brb's I'd ever seen. I only hope to be breeding mine in a few years to see what jewels I can produce.

Jeff

rainbowsrus Jul 11, 2007 02:04 PM

Nope, wasn't me with all the nice toys, but I did vow "when I grow up...."

I had contacted Will a while back and have been waiting for the babies to be ready. I also got some of last years babies (1.2) and like you said, they are smokers. Besides the crazy cool crescents, the colors have this hard to describe quality to them. Kind of a deep richness to them that I don't see in my other BRB's and I have a LOT of BRB's!!!!

Congratulations Dave on the new arrivals. I really like the boldness of one of them but I forgot the number but it could be Gomez's sister so if they end up mating I want second dib's on that litter for the thick bold lines. I just looked it is #1236 and #1259 does look vibrant too btw
Bob

rainbowsrus Jul 11, 2007 05:49 PM

Thanks Bob, they are a good looking bunch of rainbows. I still say the line has some subtle deep coloring I don't see in typical BRB's. Kind of an intensity of color, not so much a brightness. Must be related to the locality, they are descended from Lamar's group originally collected from Leticia Columbia.

strategy and clean daily and feed at certain times so everything doesn't poop at once. If I keep up on top of thing they are cleaned daily and waste little time of my day.
