I got this guy in January and he has been putting on the pounds!
This is actually my Girlfriends favorate Snake, she holds it all the time and gives it "kisses" etc Its actually quite cute.

He is allways finding a way to get stuck or wrapped arround something

This one is a little wierd because im taking the picture through the glass, i gave him a turtle log (the ones that float in the turtle tanks) to play with and he never leaves it, he has to squeeze and bunch up to get inside but this is him sitting in it looking out at the world

aww! mercutio does that (but not with a turtle log) he has this little hollow aquarium decoration piece in his tank (it's supposed to look like a piece of driftwood) anyway he bunches himself up inside there and only likes to come out when its dinner time. i guess he likes it better than the hidehut i made him. (this isn't the one that lives in the vivarium, this is the baby i bought from jeff clark a year ago). he is living in a pretty standard tank with paper towel substrate and plastic decorations while i make his vivarium. this is him (the other one is the one you have all seen posted here so often)

yea mine sometimes doesnt even come out to eat, he will stick his head out just enough to grab a rat and pull it into the log with him!

Last night was feeding night and as usual, several of the juvie BRB's were in their moss hides with just the tip of their nose sticking out the entrance hole. That is until a tasty morsel gets waved by, then it's simply amazing how fast 1/3 to 2/3 of that snake is out and wrapped in the blink of an eye. It's like they sit there for days conserving the energy just to be expended all at one time.

He isnt that big yet, and the BCC's tend to grow fairly slow (consitering their overall size) But when they are full grown they are very impressive. (id rather tango with an angry 17' burm then an ancry 12' guyana)

You should definatly get one.

If your going to get a redtail that isnt a morph (a "normal" go with a BCC instead of a BCI, IMO they just look so much nicer and i love that "True Redtail" look. With the peaks and the coloring, all that red/purple/pinkness.

I guess I need help sorting out all the abbreviations (BCC, BCI etc.) It took me a while to figure out what Dave's WC meant next to his wife listed at the bottom of his posts!

BCC= Boa Constrictor Constrictor BCI=Boa Constrictor Imperator
N/P in subject line= no post WC=wild caught CB=captive born or bred some ppl are tricky the good ones are CBB captive bred&born lol no questions asked there 1.0= male 0.1= female 0.0.1= unknown sex those are the common ones i think there is more but havent had my caffine yet today

BCC= Boa Constrictor Constrictor
BCI=Boa Constrictor Imperator

The BCC's are Guyanas, Surinams etc they get a little bigger. These are the "true redtails" They have the widowspeaks etc

the BCI's are the columbians etc. They get a tad bit smaller, most of your morphs are in the form of a BCI. . . They have more of a saddle then any peaks.

Nice looking red tail!!!

Does prove the point that a true hide is something the dnake has to cram itself into. They feel the most secure when not exposed and how can you be less exposed then when you're surrounded by walls you can feel yourself pressed up against. No claustrophobia in snakes.

Very nice Russ! I just love BCC's! I had my baby out last night. I call him a baby, but he is working on 6' and is getting really thick. I need to get some updated pictures of him. He's just a little squirt in all of my pics. I do not think I will be kissing him anytime soon though! With my luck, it would turn into a lip lock!
