blankminded Jul 11, 2007 10:31 PM

I was just wondering if an albino Mexican Black Kingsnake has been produced yet. If so does anyone have any pics?

thanks

I've never heard of one.
There are albino desert kings, I wouldn't be surprised if someone had a project to borrow the gene going on.

It would be interesting to see if any of the pattern that the black often masks would show through on an albino.

I wonder if anyone has tried to "transfer" the white-sided gene from Brooksi to Nigrita. That one sounds like it might be interesting (but then again, I'm just partial to white-sided snakes).

An albino nigrita would lack the black pigment so its juvenile (desert king) type pattern would probably show through for life. I suspect it wouldn't be a very attractive snake.
