Common boa with a pattern anomaly. ~~Greg~~
is a Guyana Redtail with an abberrant pattern and a nice one to boot. TC
It is a young Guyana boa, and judging from the color of the aspen and deli cup, I would say it was taken at the expo in San Antonio TX, somewhere around Nov 11, 2006.
And you shouldn't borrow other people's photos without asking.

Hey, Chris, nice pic.
I see you're giving a presentation on photography at the ETHS seminar. That's great!

Are you sure it's not a "Suriname Boa..."?

What goes up must come down...unless it exceeds escape velocity.
Actually, I think it was a Guyana. It could have been a "Surinam" boa, except, I don't consider those any different since Suriname and Guyana are just a few feet from each other.

its of Guyana origin. Surinames are very similar depending on where the're collected from but thats DEFINITELY from Guyana. Tom Crutchfield....I've seen tousands of them!!!
When Tom says he's seen thousands of them, he ain't lyin'. My first answer goes to show ya how well I know boas. Next time I'll sit down & shut up.

Sorry, I guess that was too subtle of a joke. I copied and pasted (without permission) the title "Suriname Boa..." from your photobucket page which is how you have the picture labled.
The OP posted a link to your picture and asked what it was...which is generally considered a reasonable thing to do on the internet as long as you're not claiming it's your picture.

I missed that...oops. In hindsight, I had forgotten which it was when I labeled the photo. So I went with Suriname. I guess I can call it a Guyana Shield boa.
Again, I don't really mind the person using the photo, and it had my copyright intact, but I think at least acknowledging the source would have been more proper.
