After your euthinezed the mice, How do you store them? Just in regular plastic ziplock baggys or do you do something special?

Ziplocks work, and they will last 6 months to a year frozen in ziplocks with all the air removed.

When I get several ziplocks full I individually weigh and vacuum seal them. Vacuum sealed mice or rats should last up to 2 years in the freezer. Vacuum bags are expensive if you use the FoodSaver type bags, but I got a sealer that uses commercial bags. I pay about 1 cent per 4x6 bag, so the cost isn't a problem to individually seal them.

what type of sealer do you have and what are you calling comercial bags. all i've seen are the ones that use the rolls which seem to be very costly. my colony is getting to the point i'm going to have to start freezing the surplus. thanks gene

This is the sealer I have, though I got mine off Ebay for about $60. None are posted on Ebay currently

The "commercial bags" I was referring to are vacuum pouches that DO NOT have the "channels" like Foodsaver and other consumer level sealers use. I order those from CPT Plastics in Wisconsin, it was $23.50 shipped for 2000 4x6 bags, and about $26 shipped for 1000 6x8 bags. I don't think I'll EVER use those up, or at least not for quite a few years.
