We had our first shed (while in my household) early yesterday morning.
There is a tiny bit (< 0.5"
on the tail but if that's not gone by the time I get home a bath will be in order. A tiny bit isn't bad right?

You should definitely make an attempt to remove all of the shed from the tip of the tail. In my experience, this can lead to problems with the tail, including tissue necrosis. I'd be more worried if it was more than a half an inch. The dead skin from the shed constricts the blood flow to the area. I'd expect a small piece like that to come right off without trouble. Check the area after it is removed to make sure it is smooth and does not exhibit any tears. This problem seems more common in boas (at least according to my vet) than it does in pythons.
Good luck.
It was off when I got home actually. The tail looked ok to me.
