cant feed with repti-bark in tank?

can i feed my corn snake if i place the pinky/rat onto a "feeding dish" while i use repti-bark as a substrate? coz it would be cool watching him eat in his enclosure =P

I suppose you could but if you repeatedly feed him in the tank when you thake him out to handle him he might take a food response and bite you.
