T. Wagleri

vsalvadorii Jul 13, 2007 12:54 AM

Hey everyone,
I have been researching Wagleri, for quite some time now and I saw the add on kingsnake, and decided I might take advantage of it. I feel I am ready for it, but still have a few questions. I don't mean to be cheap but I wanted to put a baby female wagleri in a exoterra I had extra, until she gets some girth on her then I will move her to a vision. Just wondering if this sounds good to you. I have experience keeping humidity in these cages because I have raised green tree pythons and etb's in them. So anyone with anything to say on this subject, please chime in. Phobos, I was the one that contacted you a few months ago on this species and I have finally decided to settle on this species. Thank you for your help through emails, and I was wondering if you could put out another T. Wagleri video please! And if you could direct me to the place you get those little trees you used for the neonate eyelash vipers, I feel they will be useful. Thanks all!

My best suggestion would be manual watering. I actually took my queue from one of Al's videos.

We have one of those gallon drip-jug setups, but I took a pipette and slid it into the end of the little hose. I adjust the drip and extend the pipette and touch it to her lips. If she is thirsty she will sit and guzzle (the tiny gupls that they are) for about 2 or 3 minutes. When she's had anough she turns up her nose and stops.

Hydration is the main issue with these, as well as many other arboreals. I have tried to encourage drinking from a dish, but she won't have any of it.

Also many wagleri are w/c, which can affect their feeding response to white mice. If you noitice lack of interest try dark nosed ones. We feed an adult mouse about every three weeks. She lives in an 18x18 Exoterra cube with the doors in teh front, which seems fine for her.
