premature baby

crazyjharris Jul 13, 2007 07:15 AM

this baby hatched with a blob of what looked like maybe after birth attached to it's belly. the blob of stuff was as big as the baby. i think it may have hatched to early. it's been 12 hours since i found the hatchling and it's still alive. any input would help. i'd really like to know if anyone has seen this?

Just give it everything you would give any other gecko. It might just be a little extra yolk that has to be absorbed? I don't know, but that's my guess.

You are correct. The neonate made its appearance a bit early. Make sure you have high humidity in the container (a hide with wet paper towel will do the trick. It should be ok. In a few days, it should just drop this sack. It probably will not feed for almost a week!
