The vet couldn't get Gnuby to sit still long enough to get the small clamps in for him to open. So, she sent us home with both doses of the panacur. The next day when he had calmed down we had my fiance hold him and hand feed him his favorite treat (corn) and then he held him close to his chest and tried simply lightly tapping his nose area but he wouldn't open wide enough for me to get the tip of the syringe in, so he gently used his finger nail to one side of his mouth and once he opened I quickly got the tip in and Gnuby bit down. After I sqirted the panacur in his mouth I wiggled the syringe just a tad to get him to un-clench (it left little teeth marks on the plastic tip!!). Gnuby made a few swallows, we gave him a few more peas and corn and let him go back to his hide. Hopefully his next dose this Sunday goes as well! I think with these wiggly lil uros you really need two people. Gnuby has a better relationship with Christopher, so he held him and was in charge of getting Gnuby to open wide! We also thought of 'lacing' his food, but we figured if he could smell it or anything that he wouldn't eat it, then we would have wasted a dose. Good Luck.
