New albino ball

kareo Jul 13, 2007 05:22 PM

Several years ago, my roomy bought 3 pairs of possible double het for snows...this is the first year breeding them. The first clutch was 85 eggs. 3 "normals" and 5 albinos - BUT this albino is special....Thanks for looking!

It looks like a nice Paradox Albino, meaning it has some black scales, but is an Albino. Very nice looking snake!

Yup! A brand new Paradox Albino - it was quite the surprise for us. LOL, roomy still wanted an axanthic or a snow to pop out, so as to prove out the DH, but I "think" he's okay with this!

Not saying it isnt a "DH" but if its a poss "DH" does that mean it can be either het Albino, het Axanthic or het Snow???

double het for snow would be
Het Albino and Het Axanthic

both were possible DH, and right now are only proven het for albino, as we missed getting any axanthics or snows
since there is a 1:16 chance of getting a snow out of any egg, we were hoping for axanthics
maybe next year
meanwhile the babies that came out normal looking are (I believe) 66% possible het for snow, for sure-no guesses on axanthic and, of course, all are siblings to a paradox albino (which I believe has not be shown to be genetic)

Your Albino is also PH for Axanthic too, never a bad thing.

Nope, not yet. I haven't been able to prove the axanthic side of the genetics, so I can't claim that.

I've got to quit typing when I'm tired! Too many typos!!! To re-iterate:
clutch of 8 from a PDH Snow to a PDH Snow
3 normal looking siblings - 66% PH Albino
5 albino siblings
All have an outside chance of being PH Axanthic, but we didn't prove the parents in this clutch and will try again next year.
Of the 5 albinos, one is a paradox with very minimal black spots.
And when I posted, I should have posted the title as "My New Albino Ball" I think Emberball thought I didn't know what a paradox was and that I may have been trying to promote a new albino morph. I do know better.
