Officially? I don't know.

Personally? What a crock!

Notice the position of the person's left arm in the last two pics. For that snake to eat something of that size it's bound to be a tight fit going down. I don't think there's any way the arm could've stayed bent while being swallowed. The pressure would have caused the arm to assume it's natural position of extending down alongside the body.

Also notice the difference in brightness& clarity of the pics. The pics of the human are grainier and duller, a common trick used in digital imaging to make things appear to blend in better.

OK, I just did a search on Snopes.com, my trusted source of Internet hoax. Check it out: www.snopes.com/horrors/animals/anaconda.asp

Have a good one!

Damn - why do thy always kill the snake?

It certainly is a big python, which has swallowed something large. Not only is the prey item large, look at the unusual shape of the prey item while its inside the python. It doesn't appear consistent with a pig or goat.

To me, the view from the snake's tail end is consistent with the head and torso of a human. The view showing the head end of the snake is consistent with the shape of human legs and feet. This is consistent with the head-goes-down-first eating process.

The next to last picture appears to show a human body inside the snake, but only the head and upper torso. Below this point, the snake appears to be un-cut. If the picture were faked by a living human posing, he would have had to crawl inside the snake - not something I would want to do. To fake it using a corpse would be very awkward.

Could the arm position have been moved during the removal process? The hand changes position between the photos, consistent with a corpse that is out of rigor. Or a live person faking.

Look at the fingers on the hands - they look like they have been attacked by a corrosive agent - like digestive acid. Look at the lesions on the left arm - to me it looks consistent with digestive damage.

Personally, I think this may be fake, but I can't rule out that this could be actual pictorial evidence of homophagia by Python reticularis.

Perhaps someone can bring this to Snopes' attention?
