Breeders in N. Alabama?

eminart Jul 14, 2007 11:19 AM

Does anyone know of a reputable beardie breeder near Huntsville, AL? My little beardie that I got for father's day didn't make it. He died yesterday. I won't go into specifics, but I don't think he was quite right from the time I got him, but since it was my first BD, I didn't have much to compare his behavior to. Once he was obviously sick (to me), it was too late.

So, I'd like to get another one from a different breeder this time. I know they're widely available online, but, if possible, I'd like to get one locally so that I can see it first (and save shipping costs). I'm not really into the high-end morphs. I'd like something with a little color, but nothing outrageous. I need to save as much money as possible to build an adult-sized enclosure soon.

I googled, bearded dragons Alabama and came up with a show in AL next Saturday the 21st. Here is the web address.

They have a links page maybe you could check out if any of them are in your area. I also know that Agama International is in Alabama but don't know where maybe, they will come up on your search.

Thanks, I actually went to that show a couple of months ago. They have it every month. It's about an hour's drive from me, which isn't too bad. It's a fairly small show though and I only saw a couple of people there selling beardie's. One of them is who I eventually bought the one I had from. I may go back down to the show if I can't find one somewhere else.

Anyway, thanks again.

Hey! I live in Alabaster, AL just south of Birmingham. Agama International is in Alabaster, but he no longer deal/breeds bearded dragons. It is an exceptionally cool place to visit though because he has lizards of all types and they are all kept in outdoor enclosures. His place is about 5 miles from my house. There is a store in Alabaster called Tropical Pet Cove were I get all my supplies. The owner is very knowledgeable about reptiles and owns many beardies of his own. That is where I will sell my babies when mine breed. He always has a good selection of babies on up through juveniles. He has a beautiful gold beardie there right now. You may want to take a look. Or you can call them at 205-621-0411. His e-mail is info@tropicalpetcove.com. If you don't want to go that far, he may know of a reputable breeder up north.

Hey thanks for the info. That's good to know. But, I went ahead and ordered one from a breeder today. He should be here in the morning (see thread above). :D

And Roll Tide, to ya!
