I don't know, is a firebellied toad a good choice or a bad choice? I've never owned a reptile before. I NEED HELP!!!
I think it would be a good choice for a first toad, they are hardy little guys, are quite active, and are colorful... what more could you ask for in a pet toad. Just be sure to do lots of research so you will be able to house/care for them properly. IF you need some help doing research just post again I know of lots of web sites that can help you out.
Thank you so much for your help. I really apreciate it. I have done a lot of reasearch but I would apreciate it if you could still give me those web pages. I want my toads life to be a great one.

A fbt is a good choice if you keep some things in mind. They cannot be handled regularly, because your hands' oils will harm the toad. Also it works the other way, too; firebellies secrete a "bufotoxin", an irritating substance that burns and stings a potential predator if it gets into the eyes or mouth. The secretions from a fbt can, for example, cause burning in your eyes if you handle the toad and then itch your eye.
But all that aside, these toads are great starter frogs. They are small, relatively quiet and usually have a great eppetite. When you pick out your toad, look for one that is plump, active, and not lethargic or bone-thin.
If you go with a firebelly, let us know; I can give you loads of advice on keeping them!

Also what substrate should I use?!! Is moss good?
You mean for the land portion? Remember that they need a semi-aquatic tank, and there are various ways of doing this.
You can do a quick Google search for ideas, or better yet, get a frog book that includes a terrarium-making section. That should help, as will all the people here
Good luck with your new toadies!
