Rare? Really? I didn't know that. I have a spot I go to where I find Kings every year. Not plentifully, but I find them. I "boarded out" that spot over the winter (not knowing we weren't gonna have any friggin' rain) w/ the specific purpose of finding Kings, after I found 3 last year, showed them to my probation boys and let them go.

Wait! I got my Chatsworths mixed up . Its been a while since I lived out there. I thought Chatsworth right near I-110 and Artesia (91) in that area near Hawthorne, Gardena, Inglewood. Now I realized you are out in the Valley. My bad.

IMO locality specific animlas like that are worth way more anyway than a mixed locale "designer" cal king. Just that the habitat is not as small as the ones from hawthorne and the Los Angeles area right. Its amazing those locales have survived at all.

Yeah, speaking of "inner city L.A." King locales, I'm hoping to hit up some of those pockets of possible pristine snake habitat this fall and next spring. I've got my sights set on Baldwin Hills and some of the spots near the Westchester/Marina Del Rey areas.
