Just brought her home...now I need help

mannyrottie Jul 15, 2007 01:18 PM

I just bought my first female spider ball python. She is small and was born in 07. I have UTH set at medium which is about 90 and the rest of her enclosure is at 80. The room she is in is set at 80 so that is the easy part. Do I need to shut the UTH off at night and let the whole tank drop to 80 or do I leave it on?

Congrats on the new addition! You can just leave the UTH on at night. Ball Pythons don't need a night drop unless you're trying to breed them.

You need to provide constant temps 24/7

Also make sure to have an accurate reading with a digital thermometer/hygrometer if you don't already do so as dDial and stick are not accurate.

You can find a digital device like this at Walmart for 12$
