First YB clutch but what are they? HELP

midnightherps Jul 16, 2007 05:36 PM

Ive heard that not all lines of YB's have a strong clear belly.

The father of this clutch had to be either a pastel or a YB. The mother was a virgin. It looks obvious that the father is not the pastel.

You can see that two of the three are obviously lighter than the third but they dont seem to have a belly quite as pronounced as the father. Are these YB's?? All opinions welcome. I also wonder if maybe I struck out and they just inherited their mothers color. She was very high orange.

Belly of the normal.

Mother next to a normal.

Are these YB's? Thanks for looking.

Actualy guys dad is quite a YB. Guarentee ya. Theres no way you can mistake and I got him from Prehistoric Pets. They dont sell fakes.

midnightherps Jul 16, 2007 11:08 PM

....sarcastic..lol...its late and I should have worded that differently. What I meant to say was I feel confidant that my father is a good quality YB because he portrays all the characteristics and came from a reputable dealer such as Prehistoric Pets. I truly do appreciate all the comments.

They look like low-grade YB's.

i (personally) think they could be ybs - not the best ive ever seen, but they dont have to be incredible looking to produce an ivory - which is exactly what you would have to do to call them yb's. I would give it a shot!

jasballs Jul 16, 2007 07:33 PM

The dad and the first light baby are yb's The rest are normals.

To me - it looks like you missed - that light one maybe - but the belly doesn't look YBish (least I think the second belly picture is it's belly???) - it's possible they've got moms nice coloring - or really nice neonate coloring. Wait until after they shed and repost the pictures. Also might help if you could identify which belly belongs to which snake - just to avoid confusion.

Congratulations!!!

first one is.....the rest normal...bad odds, but you have one there.....I have seen some of the "normalest" looking yb's produce crazy stuff......

midnightherps Jul 16, 2007 09:28 PM

In my honest opinion I think the two light ones are both low marker YB. They are obviously different than the one normal in the trio. I think you all know thats very possible even though we most often go by the most outrageous markers we can find because it gives us a sense of security and makes things easier to claim. But we all know there are exceptions to the rule. There were only two possible fathers and two of three are clearly different. Ill definately post pics after shed. Thanks for all your comments guys.

jasballs Jul 16, 2007 09:55 PM

If you already know, Then why ask?? I still say you got only one yb..

I didnt say I knew, I said in my opinion. Is it all right to express thoughts about my own post without recieving uninvited sarcasm? One of reasons I rarely post is because so many of the the participants of this site do not carefuly think about what they say or how it will sound before posting. Just a thought. We're all on the same side remember. .....lol

Though they look like some nice normals I think you have some yellow bellies on your hand. May not be the best but keep them and see. Really in my opinion it can sometimes be hard to tell from pics.

I see one YB baby no need to wait for a shed its not going to change a thing. Again you have one YB .Jas is totally right on the money.. All the Ball Pythons below are YB's and females at that. You got to love it.
