defend the CRB's.

Nobody else seems to want to do it. LOL

Seriously, I do like CRB's, there just not my cup-o-tea!

BRB's on the other hand are my cup-o-tea and I will promote them whenever I can!!

O.o Apparently snake subspecies R Serios Bizness. I thought it was only with ball python morphs that everybody fought over who's better? *grins*

coluberking25 Jul 16, 2007 09:01 PM

...as a good ball python morph.....because there isn't such thing as a cheap one!

Tell me about it! I like normal BPs as well as I like most of the morphs, and it's insane what the price difference is between them! Especially when some of them are really not that dramatic. I mean something like piebalds, sure that's impressive. But I actually have a hard time telling the difference between a normal and some of the other morphs.

I do adore leucistic snakes though. Something about the white and the dark eyes... But of course leucistic BPs are RIDICULOUSLY expensive! (Is there a leucistic rainbow boa? I imagine white doesn't show off the rainbow sheen terribly well.)

strictly4fun Jul 16, 2007 09:36 PM

there is a leucistic columbian boa and also a licorice brazilian which looks like a lucy except it has brown speckles on the dorsal pattern in small patches more like speckling and looks friggin' cool. Ball pythons aren't my cup-o-tea either prolly cuz I can't tell the difference between the 1500 different so called morphs and 300 unproven morphs the ball market is falling faster than I am able to type too but some do look cool if I don't look at the head or the tail though
Bob

Bladespark Jul 16, 2007 09:39 PM

See, I think they're heads are cute and adorable! They have little fat chibi noses and from the front they're smiling! That's my favorite thing about balls, really. That and their small size is what appealed to me when I was considering getting one.

I'd never get snake that could get big enough to eat the cats, and I would really prefer one that doesn't get longer than I am tall. (I'm 5'3" Another vote for Columbians there, as I believe they're smaller than Brazilians. *grins*

strictly4fun Jul 16, 2007 09:44 PM

and don't feed it as if you were going to breed it like people do females and it won't be that big and strong like a red-tail would be. I will try to take pics of a dark brown brb I got with irridescence and I like the brown ones the hell with everybody and that's my story and I'm sticking to it Nice chatting with you

IkeLightner Jul 17, 2007 09:45 AM

I agree with that, just get a male and you will be just fine size wise.

coluberking25 Jul 17, 2007 12:54 PM

....and was 3.5 feet last I measured. Since that measurement, he has shed like 3 more times so he might even be 4 feet now. CRBs average out at about 6 feet, as do BRBs, and if what I've read is true, an occassional speciman can reach 9 feet.

Scott,
...Colombian Rainbow Boas slow down in growth after they reach five feet. I had one that was right at 6 feet in length but have seen no others that size. I would not expect any Colombian Rainbow to exceed 7 feet in length. Most female Brazilian Rainbows slow down past six feet in length. The largest I have owned were over 7 feet long. There are a few reports of Brazilian, Peruvian and Isla Marajo Rainbow Boas larger than 8 feet long.

I don't really agree.. and I am sorry you feel that way. I don't think it has anything to do with "having a name" - it is participating. Just jump in and become apart of it, making friends on forums is not much different then in real life - you can't sit in the corner and wait for it to happen - you need to jump in and become a part of the group. Everyone on the forums are important..

NOW - POST THOSE T's!!

I think that may be the case for the boa forum but certainly not in the rainbow forum. I mean figuring relatively not that many people are regulars as opposed to say the ball or boa forum-and someone says hi I'm new there will be way more responses on this forum as opposed to all the views and few responses on the boa forum but hey that's just my take on the matter. I'm a nobody let's face it but I have quite a few friends on this forum. The big breeders of rainbows are pretty much the sponsors of this forum and other than Dave who posts tooooo much there isn't any other big breeder that starts threads. But if you've seen one you've seen them all so when Dave post some pics up-just let the rest of us drool over them if you want (no disrespect intended)
Bob

p.s. Sorry I didn't respond to the Remembrance Wall post but I wanted too seriously
