Hey guys, This is my Final Setup for my Tank

birdhou53 Aug 18, 2003 08:09 PM

hey guys, i would appreciate it if u could tell me if this would be a good setup for a baby corn in my 27 gallon tank =)

Substrate:
Repti-bark or maybe Bounty paper towels

Acessories:
half a log
one big branch
exo-terra small water dish
a hideout made out of rocks

would that be good? the tank is kinda big thouhg.....should i put toilet rolls inside so that the corn might feel safer to hide in them too?

Sounds Good. Make sure the water dish your getting is big enough for the snake to completely submerge. Another thing you can do for a water dish is get a dog bowl, cut a hole in the side and it can serve as hide box and a water dish. The rest sounds good.

Couple things:

- Hide made out of rocks - Is this something you're going to make yourself? How will it be secured so there's no chance of it collapsing (say, if you bump the cage)

- Water dish - the reptile water dishes I've seen are very expensive for what you get. I like to use dog dishes, the ones with the holes cut out on the side as 'handles', so they double as a hide. My snakes love them.

Looks good but if the light is the only source of heat I suggest putting in an under-tank heating pad with a hide box on top of it. I'm not sure about the hammock I'v never used one, the snake may use it all the time, it may not use it at all, try it out.

hehee thanks, yeah i got an under tank heater too....oh yeah since i have an under tank heating pad, should i change the bulb of my lamp to a 60 watt bulb? and speaking of bulbs, do u think i should use the "blue" or the "red" one? i think i mihgt keep that light on 24 hours if u guys think its okay...

1 more question.....i was thinking of buying a fluoresent light....maybe exo-terra 2.0 and 5.0 becoz i heard those 2 combined really makes the colour of ur animal stand out....tell me should i get those? i know UVB or whatever will run out but i know snakes wont need it.....so those fluorsent i buy will be like from now till forever.....hehe thanks man
