Leo's Line of sight

Alanna Jul 17, 2007 11:29 AM

What type of Vision/line of sight do Leo's have. As there eyes are on the side of there heads can they see directly in front of themselves. The reason i am asking is that when i go into her at night she doesnt seem to notice me until i move to her side. Her lunge for food is excellent so im not concerned about her sight but im curious about there vision and line of sight

Actually their eyes are right in front of their head. (like most predators are)
All I can think of is that they can see moving objects much better than static ones...
IMO

mmm i'd say there sort of inbetween the front and side of the heads. by the looks of it, a large majority of there vision will to the sides, but the way the eye's look they can also see ahead of them, not a range as wide as the side's, but enough to know where there food is..i mean they just lunge at there food and hope for the best. are gecko's classed as predators aswell? leo's seem very defenceless to me. they dont have teeth, claws are nothing compared to, say a beared dragon, who has teeth and nice refined claws, aswell as defensive skin. all of which leo's have none. but hey, i guess everything's a predator really arent they? and every living being on earth has some sort of animal which could kill and eat them lol

Yes. They are predators. They have teeth, and queratinized skin. Which is much harder than it looks.
As many predators, they can be hunted down by larger predators. But don´t forget they also hunt smaller preys like insects.
