It really depends on your plans for her. If she is going to be your only boa, and you want a nice display cage, then go all out and make/buy her a big cage. However, many breeders keep their females in cages that are 4'L x 2'D x 1'H (this is the minimum I would suggest). If she is a very thick girl, you could get a 6' cage. Adult boas are terrestrial, and added height is not really necessary. For display purposes, you may want a taller cage. If you plan on having quite a few boas, space becomes a premium. That's the reason most breeders use 1' tall cages. Hit the cage classifieds and look around. You'll find something.

I agree with what Phil said. I use a rule of thumb that the snake should be able to stretch out completely at least along one side and an end. For example, I'd consider keeping a 6' snake in a 4'X2'X1' cage. Once it goes over 6', I move it up to an 8' cage. It's just a personal preference that I like my snakes to have the opportunity to stretch out. I know some folks keep very large animals in relatively small cages, such as an 8 footer in a 4' cage. I can't say that my way is any better, I just feel better about it.

i think that if it is your only boa you should go crazy on the cage. give him lots of room to move and climb around.
