Gizmo loves to pose for the camera

doublemom Jul 17, 2007 05:17 PM

Our Gizmo is doing so well. We've had him for three months now. He never really had to go through an adjustment period, he was just curious and active and ate well from the first day we brought him home. He eats a huge salad every day, and though he wasn't super skinny when we got him, he has definitely put on weight and is starting to look really good now.

He really likes to pose for the camera I've been told that Uros aren't really climbers, but he loves to climb up and down his rock hide/basking area, and seems to prefer hanging on to the sides of it instead of laying flat across the top. Here is a photo of him saying "Good Morning!" just after waking up, and another of him rock climbing.

LOL! Yep, Giz is definitely a "chillin" Uro. Nothing phases him, and he loves to watch and listen when anyone is in his room, even the cats.

I've heard stories of how hard it can be to acclimate a WC Uro geyri , but Gizmo has impressed us right from the start. I think a lot of it was that the pet store that we got him from actually knew how to take care of him properly, which hardly ever happens. They had the correct enclosure, lights, temps, basking area, food, etc.

He doesn't like to be held at all, and I've only picked him up twice in three months, but he doesn't mind being petted while in his enclosure, and he looks to be hand fed every chance he gets. Spoiled or what?
