How do you sex Iguanas and be shore?
TIA Chris
look at thier back legs- there will be a row of pores (if they are small iguanas- they will look a bit like pimples)- if they are present- its a male. older males will also have huge jaws (jowels). and if its breeding season they will have a bit of a red tone.
Males also have a larger flap than females but you'd have to have a side-by side to know the difference.
I go by the pores- if they're there- its a boy- no pores = female.

They can be probed, just like snakes - even as hatchlings.

"How the hell do you find a Heloderma in a snowstorm?"
I think males heads have bumps on top of the head right behind the eyes in front of the spines, as well as the femoral pores. If you just watch them defacate a few times they'll extend their hemipenes if they are male.
