Was in the Promised Land from 7/8 - 7/15 .. great trip, even with no alterna observed/photographed. 32 total, 8 species, 27 AOR. Spent several nights roadcruising with Lloyd Heilbrunn plus a quick, muddy tromp on Daryl Eby's Luna Vista ranch (thanks again Daryl). The 3 of us did Black Gap one night also. Thanks also to the Beckwiths for their hospitality; too bad Limpia and 118 were a bust. Doug and I chatted with Warden Spears on the big hill s. of Alpine - he did nothing to dispel his rep as an OK LE dude.

How is Lloyd's trip going?

I herped with him here one night before he set off west and was wondering if he was finding any of his targets (Bogeys, bairdii, alterna).

He scored on the bogeys. He may have since found the others.

Subocs were not a problem - we found them on the T-Ranch and River roads. I don't know if he was successful finding a Baird's rat, and hopefully his luck will be better with alterna than mine :^P Lloyd said he enjoyed finding corals near San Antone.

Just landed tonight, I screwed up my return reservation,and am 4 days late getting back. Too tired to elaborate on the rest of the trip, but I'll let you know the details soon.

It will be several weeks before I get all my pics on cd and get time to do so a post with pics...

But I wanted to thank everyone who showed me the ropes out there and were great companions, Chris,Bill,Daryl,and Roy.
