I was really feeling like this year was a good year.
Last year wasn't so great. Lost a lot of snakes due to some viruses and stupid maintenance problems.
This year a lot of stuff came together, all of my breedings except for one happened as planned.
Then I got a bunch more snakes for breeding next year, just to make everything better.
My first loss this year seems to be the hardest.
I had a CB04 male Eastern King from Will Still, got him in the beginning of 2006.
He was honestly the pride and joy of my collection. I was even considering a tattoo of a eastern king on my right arm just because this snake was my favorite.
He was eager to breed this year but the female was small, and it just wouldn't happen.
I just bought 3 adult females for next year.
He came down with a respiratory infection a little while ago.
I guess it got out of control?
But he was losing weight and it was obvious, and he wouldn't eat, not to mention his bowels weren't looking too great.
I didn't hear him gasping like he used for the past couple days. I thought everything was gonna be fine.
I cleaned his enclosure earlier today.
He drank some water.
Was dead when I just checked on him.
