Pearlescent Boas:

BigJim55 Jul 18, 2007 03:29 AM

I see allot of posts of nice animals and they seem to get allot of attention, what I dont understand is why the Pearlesent line from our good friend and boa Guru Jeff Ronne gets so little attention! IMHO far surpases many of the morphs out there. I recently purchased a new book that was supposed to give new boa breeding info and the like, I am sad to say this new book did not give any new info but only gave me the same information that Jeff Ronne gave me many years ago in his articles in Reptile Magazine and his breeding viedos! and in some places in the book it seems staight from Jeff and gives little or no credit! No as of yet I am not an employee! but if there was a hall of fame for boa breeders I would vote for many of the breeders that post on these forums and Jeff Ronne would be at the top of this list of course! Regards, Jim Elliott

I would imagine that very few, if any, people other than Jeff have any.
Jeff probably held back the majority of them and the ones that were avaialable are not affordable for most people.
I have a male hypo that I picked up last year (not from Jeff) that looks just like a pearlescent. We'll see what happens when I breed him.

I think Jeff has kept all the pearlescent boas that he has produced or atleast the original group. I believe he too is still figuring out the genetics of these guys. Maybe he can enlighten us a little more on the subject. What book are you talking about by the way? It may have been published when this morph just surfaced giving no time to mention anything about them.

I love the Pearlescents... Once Jeff starts selling more of those beauties, people will post pics , and they will get more attention they deserve.... I thought I remember Jeff talking about making a new breading video? If he comes out w/ dvd , they will sell like crazy , and if you really want to sell truck loads of them , give us a little video extra on how to build those cages.
