Asf and Ball pythons

I was wondering if you start hatchlings on Asf rats. Can you eventually switch them over to regular rats. I was looking for people with experience in this. Thanks .

My one female BP was bought at 75g and allegedly started on mice, but I fed her exclusively on live ASF rats for 4 months. I've recently started breeding mice again so I tried a live mouse and she took it easily, then the last feeding she took a freshly killed mouse.

I didn't hatch her myself so she wasn't started on only ASF rats, but she was so small when I got her she couldn't have had that many mouse meals.

Thanks for the info. I have a few it has only been a week, but I stopped breeding mice and started on ASF they are easier and smell less. Plus the large litters are nice.

I think if you occasionally feed a regular mouse or rat they should be fine and should take any of them.

Thanks for the info. I got one to feed on a rat pink. But the rest have been a no go. Guess I over worry till the first meal.
