desert king mate

onebadguy Jul 18, 2007 10:25 AM

i am looking for advice on mates for my desert king, chocolate colour.

can anyone reccomend a colour morph to obtain best results from my king? Unsure as yet as to the sex but will be getting the snake probed and looking to mate next year.
He/she is currently 2yrs or so and nearly 5ft.

He/she does have some old burns and missing scales from a previous owner who kept this gorgeous snake in bad conditions (consequently he is now looking for another snake...... I pity the one he finds)
Will this in any way affect hatchlings or the breeding process?

Thanks in advance

I think that snake if near 5' would be at least 3 years or older, much older, imho.

i have yet to accurately measure him but housed in a 4ft long viv he stretches full length plus 6-8 inches.
I Think these average about 15yrs in captivity so if all goes well we should have a few yrs yet and at this length i also presume he is full grown?

definitely an adult and I wouldn't expect much over 5', unless you have a genetic giant! I love the splendies!
